   It was all very anti-climactic, really, Tenchi and Juno easily moved into position and sent their message and the rest of the group moved in expecting a fight that never materialized. The men and woman gave no resistance dropping their tools and cowering at the scions approach. 
    
   That left them facing the building they believed the monster to be in. They couldn't see it but they could hear something moving inside and could see some movement in the shadows beyond the door.
    
   Suddenly a feeling of dread came over them the persons they had captured whimpered and cowered evn more and a strangely disembodied voice whispered to them...
    
   "Yessss... finally a feast I can enjoy!"

   April 7

   By their watches it was late afternoon but it was dark under the canopy of leaves. The boat moved slowly but steadily,  they had to stay in the broader channels running the trolling motors but their passage was almost silent. Juno was at the bow picking out the subtle signs of the others passage. The rest of the group couldnt see them even when she pointed them out.
    
   After a couple of hours they began to hear the sounds of construction, hammering and saws. They slowed and beached the boat, there was solid ground here and ahead of them the boats of their quarries. They followed the tracks from those boats and the sounds inland and came to the old gas farm the wells capped and all of it over grown. 
    
   They could see the men and one woman, six of them, working among the wells some of them were clearing the overgrowth and a couple were dismantling several old wooden sheds. There was one building better constructed than the sheds, it might have been an office when this place had been working but now it was just dilapidated. The men would occasionally throw wary glances that way, and as the heroes watch they could see...something... moving inside.

   March 21

   The motor coughed for several seconds before catching and settling into a steady  idle. It helped that the motor had been well cared for and hadn’t been running when it was submerged.
    
   While the men had been working on the boat, Juno, Karlee, and Stacy had been busy as well. The three women had gone back into the store and the sheds to gather useful items and when they returned, they set their bounty on the dock. Among the found gear were two shotguns and a .357 revolver as well as ammunition for the guns. Some food and water as well as energy drinks and two electric trolling motors and fully charged batteries
    
   Tenchi nodded with approval, “Those motors will be good if we can find their location. We can switch to them and move in silently.”
    
   After stowing the gear they all piled into the large fiberglass boat and donning ear protection drove into the bog.
   Juno sat at the front observing and watching the epitome of a hunter. She gave directions with her hands as the roar of the airplane engine was way too loud for conversation, even by yelling. How she spotted the clues was a miracle, no one else in the group saw the miniscule signs of passage that she did how the environment had been disturbed.
    
   At one point she had them stop and shut off the engine. She climbed from the boat onto a muddy strip of land that those thy had followed had to cross. That crossing was visible to all but Juno saw more.
    
   “The men are with the Wild-one. It helped them carry the boats across.” She turned to Karlee, “What is out this way?”
   Karlee shrugged, “I don’t know, this isn’t my home I didn’t grow up here.”
    
   Raiko lowered her phone. “If my gps is right we are near an old natural gas farm. I looked it up. It was active in the late 1960’s through the 80s. It was abandoned, no reason given, and the company went bankrupt. The wells were capped. That is all I can find with just my phone if we had time and my laptop,” Raiko shrugged.
   Karlee was nodding. Stacy caught the motion. “What?”  “It was before my time but I was told that in the 70s and 80s the Wild-ones drove many such corporations from the lonely places. I think this might have been one of them,” Karlee explained.
    
   “How far from here,” Tench asked his sister? Raiko looked at her phone again, “A little more than a mile.”

   March 12

   While Tenchi and Tryfon worked on getting the airboat running after they turned it back over, Juno knelt down on the end of the pier and looked out into the bog, she narrowed her eyes and began noticing things that weren't obvious to normal persons.
    
   Broken grass, a smear of mud ont he trunk of a cypress tree, a broken branch... things which jumpped out at her as if her eyes had just been opened.
    
   "They took a boat and followed the wildone,  that way."

   February 11

   They did a quiet and methodical search of the camp and the what the silence before had told them was confirmed. There were no living persons in the camp, however they did find several corpses stacked in the restaurants walk-in freezer. It was not a pleasant discovery.
    
   The dead were  in a corner of the freezer, five corpses, three men two women all appeared to be in their forties or fifties, stacked one atop another. All of them were white and there was no sign of violence.
    
   Karlee upon seeing the dead quickly left the freezer, Stacy followed her. "I know its hard see this sort of thing, just ry not to dwell on it."
    
   "No, it isn't that, those are all white, the folks that own and run this place are native, Osage, mostly, maybe quarter blooded but they still look indian. None of them are in there." Karlee hugged herself.
    
   Tenchi came out frowning, he had heard the last. "I found a cut rope at the dock, I think one of the boats is missing. I assume a wild-one wouldn't need a boat."

   February 4

   An examination of the boats showed the all of the normal boats which were made of either wood or aluminum had had the bottoms holed. The airboat, which had a fiberglass hull had just been turned over and pressed into the mud below the dock.
    
   Try stared off at the swamp the buzzing in his ear intensified then a voice distant and near became clear. It was husky but spoke clearly, "The Winter wind blows from all corners. Ithequa is a bad spirit, many are his name and not all of them are the peoples. He starts slow and builds strong. Like the Christians demon he is one but can be many. It is said that eating the flesh of your fellow man is what makes you the windigo, but this is false. The Ithequa can enter the heart of any that is broken. Once inside the heart will fester and rot, this will look like the whisky sickness, eventually the heart inside is black and the Ithequa will make you do things. one wioll be to eatthe flesh of your own. eventually you will die but your black heart with Ithequa inside will live on, now your body will belong to him your mind will be gone and you will do whatever he wants. you will begin to change then. That is when the wendigo is born."
    
   Tenchi finds a cut rope attached to the docks. none of the other boats were untied before being sunk.

   January 18

   It was crowded in the old car but they managed. Try pushed his foot down on the peddle and they sped away down the old dirt road that was more trail than anything.
   Karlee gave directions but as they drove somehow Try started taking the turns and finding the right roads before Karlee gave the instruction, after the third or fourth time she simply stopped.
    
   Try didn’t get lost.
    
   It was late afternoon when they arrived, but it looked later due to the over growth filtering the sunlight. The last few miles had been on a raised dike that meandered through the boggy swamp, moss covered cypress trees crowding on both sides and shallow canals winding between them.
    
   The camp itself was like something from the last century, early in the last century at that. The road had ended at a wide built-up spot of land that served as a parking lot. There were a few pickup trucks and an old Wiley’s Jeep that looked as if it had seen service in either WW2 or Korea, it was that old. Leading away from the parking lot was a ten-foot-wide wooden walkway on short pylons which led into the bog and to several old wood sided tin roofed buildings the largest of which had a sign that read Parker and Grimes General Supply and Restaurant. There was no noise except the sounds of the swamp and no sign of any people.
    
   Several of the buildings were for storage, one was a sort of motel with eight small separate rooms and then there was the largest the Store and Restaurant. The power was still on but there was just no one there. The place looked well stocked and like it should be full of people going about their business. There didn’t seem to be any signs of a struggle or anything, at least not until they arrived at the far side of the camp where a couple of piers stuck out into the swamp. There they found several sunken boats and an overturned airboat.

   Karlee shook her head and stepped over to Tenchi, putting her hand on his arm above his wrist and pushing the phone down. "No it would be useless and a distraction. They know how to hide from men, they have been doing it for centuries." She looks around, "I don't know why but I believe that you can find this thing, and stop it before more deaths come. And more will. It will turn to the nearest like it, there are not so many Wild-ones, that it will waste time tracking them, it will go where prey are easy.
    
   There is a fishing camp not far about seven miles from here.  If it is native to this area it would know of the camp and may have gone there to hunt."

   "No, you do not understand. The Ithaqua it goes by many names all tribes know him. It only eats itself," Karlee say obviously shaken.
    
   "Wait," Stacy looks at Tryfon, " you said this is like a Windigo right aren't those cannibles?"
    
   Karlee just nods as she hugs herself.

    "Not spirits, there is only one, but Ithaqua can be many. Those who have gone against nature, who have turned from the path, their hearts become open to him. He hungers and all he wants is to eat, he is a glutton, he does not eat for survival but because he is angry and full of hate." 
     
    Karlee studies these unusual people she has brought here and wonders. "He must be found, and before he is killed we must discover if he is the first."

   The rush each of the chosen feel is euphoric and all encompassing. When the light fades each of them knows that they have changed, been changed, by gods whom they had hours and days ago thought of only as myth if thought of at all.
    
   The light fades and they are on the disc Imhotep stand among them, at the edges the gods are already departing most gone into the ether and beyond.
    
   “I will be joining you on Earth, at least for a time,” he says.
    
   “I thought the gods could not go to earth,” stated Tenchi as he looked at the sword his patron had given him.
    
   “Not all of them,” Imhotep shook his head, ”those like us, mortals once, they continue to move among mortals as long as they keep their influence at a minimum.”
    
   “Why aren’t they or you for that matter handling this crisis?” This time it was Raiko, Tenchi’s sister who questioned the god.
    
   Again, Imhotep shook his head, “That would lead to disaster, no matter our individual intentions we are of a pantheon, a family and that would always color our choices, our decisions. It would lead to war. No this is the only way.
    
   Now,” he spoke sharply cutting off any more questions, “I must take us back…”
    
   The disc began to spin slowly at first, then faster and faster. They felt no sensation of movement but the sky beyond became a blur and then they were no longer on the disc, but rather they were in the dining room of the hotel at their table.
    
   “We have returned to the hotel, it is a few hours before dawn, any mortal who experienced anything last night will only remember the blizzard and an avalanche which crashed into the town. It is a common enough occurrence so as not to raise much suspicion.
    
   Your natures will emerge over the next few days but remember you are not gods and few if any know who you even are. I would suggest resting today then returning to your homes and make plans. You do not need to stay together but as things arise it may be necessary for you to congregate. You should make arrangements for a place to gather.”

   SCION: CHAOSIUM! "Awakening"

   The Egyptian stepped between the columns and into the vast hall and paused, looking up. From outside the ceiling of this place appeared to be a dome resting on the thousand columns in the Greek, or was it Roman, fashion, either way distasteful to his senses. But from the inside, the ceiling, vast curving above and beyond, revealing the cosmos, a view that even now filled him with wonder.
    
   “Stop your wool gathering architect, we have business to attend to.”
    
   Imhotep searched out the source of the voice as he was unable to identify it from its sound alone. It was either Odin, the All-Father, or Zeus. Two gods so similar that to those who did not know them they could be thought to be one, and yet so different that they would forever be opposed to the other. They even looked alike and both with the greatest of egos. It was Odin, this time, his one eye glaring at him. Imhotep sketched a slight bow and moved to his place among those gathered.
    
   “Well?”
    
   That voice he would always be able to identify, its dulcet tone soothing, bringing the scent of cherry blossoms and the crash of waves along the shore to his senses. He gazed into the bright eyes of Amaterasu and answered her.
    
   “One of the twelve is broken completely,” He tosses several pieces of what looks like slate onto the surface of the table around which the gods sit. “Four others have cracked and are deteriorating. Already some of the spawn have escaped.”
    
   KLANG! The sound of the hammer slamming onto the table startled everyone there. Thor grinned, “Then let us go forth as of old and do battle! Send the spawn back to the hell they crawled out of.”
    
   “And break every oath we took and send the world below spinning into chaos? As much as I would like to do as you suggest, we mustn’t, we cannot undo all we have accomplished,” Zeus spoke up his voice almost exactly like that of Odin’s, whom had spoken before.
    
   “And what exactly have we accomplished,” questioned Thor sarcastically?
    
   “Thor, show respect.” Thor’s wife Sif tilted her head in disapproval.
    
   “I don’t know, the boy has a point, I would like to know what these accomplishments are myself.” The god that leaned forward out of the shadows which clung to him , Tezcatlipoca, the mirror about his neck flashing as it caught the light of the stars above, locked eyes with Zeus who halfway rose to accept the unspoken challenge.
    
   “He means peace, and an end to the warfare which threatened to destroy us all.” Marduk did rise and stepped through the table which collapsed into mist, Mjolnir falling to be caught by Thor before it crashed onto the floor. “Are there any here who doubts Imhotep’s discoveries?” Marduk slowly turns eyeing all those gods gathered here in this place of reconciliation. Gods who represented all the Pantheons which still held influence upon the world through proxy. None answered in the affirmative.
    
   He nodded to Imhotep, “Then you know what must be done,” Marduk spoke.
    
    
   Lightning flashed and wind sheared at thirty thousand feet, the plane shook and dropped almost a hundred feet in a single breath. Not a comforting sensation especially with the Rocky Mountains looming ahead.
    
   Ali Badren was jolted awake by the turbulence, the plane was dark, only lit in flashes by the lightning through the small windows. Ali looked around and saw… no one! He was alone, the plane which had been full of people was now empty. He scrambled to undo his seat belt when he felt a hand touch his. He jerked his head to the right looking at the seat beside him that had just been empty. Lightning Flashed. Jim Lee, his best friend sat there, looking at him serenely, caring. They had met in the first grade when Jim had come to Ali’s defense in the playground and the two had been friends ever since. Always together, through grade school, middle school, and halfway through high school when James Father took a new job at Denver’s Mile High Airport and they had moved away. But they had stayed in contact and had visited often during college breaks.
    
   Jim was the reason Ali was on this plane. Because Jim was dead, and Ali was flying to Denver for the funeral. But here he was sitting next to him on the plane smiling. “You know I don’t like to ski,” said his dead friend.
    
   The touch on his hand grew more insistent , the hand touching his gripped his wrist and shook his arm… Ali opened his eyes as the plane shook again. The middle-aged woman in the grey business suit stared at him with concern, “Sorry to startle you but you seemed to be having a bad dream, and they just announced we’ll be landing soon. They want us to put our seats into the upright position.”
    
   A little more than two hours later Ali was on the ground and sitting in the living room of his dead best friend’s family’s house. It was somber there had been hugs and even tears. Jim’s dad had passed away a little over a year ago and Ali had been here for that funeral as well. Now there was just Jim’s mother Lorain and his sister Darlene, who had been away at collage in California but was now home.
    
   At the moment, Darlene was fixing them some tea. As soon as Darlene had gone to the kitchen Lorain who had said little and was obviously grieving terribly had stood up and taken an envelop out of her dress pocket. She stepped over to Ali, held it out for him, “This was in…Jim’s desk in his office addressed for you.”
    
   Ali could see his name on the envelope. He took the envelope and opened it inside were two ski resort tickets to the ski lodge at Snowfield, Colorado, a well-known exclusive town, and resort high up in the Rockies. The passes were all inclusive, hotel, board, and ski lift and were dated for two days after the funeral for one week.
    
    
   Suruç, Turkey near the Syrian border 46 kilometres (29 mi) southwest of the city of Urfa
    
   Kamala watched the dirty and dented white Land Rover bounce up the dirt track which passed for a road through the sprawling refugee camp. She had been here almost six months, a refugee herself, but now an integral part of the lifeline of so many. The Land Rover came to a stop in a cloud of dust Kamala saw the Doctors without Borders emblem on the door underneath the dirt. She hoped they had brought some much-needed supplies for her normal patients and that who ever they had sent would be able to get the mystery man to make sense.
    
   Valentine looked up at the woman standing outside the tent with the crescent moon on its side. This must be the contact.
    
   Valentine had never been to this camp before and should not be here alone now, but everyone else had responded to a bombing in Urfa where there had been multiple deaths and over a hundred and fifty casualties and that number was expected to go up. She had been about to depart for Urfa when the call had come in about a very ill man who had walked into the refugee camp here and the medic who had called for help could not explain the man’s illness. The described symptoms had sounded to Valentine like advanced radiation poisoning. Valentine had not said anything about that to the caller, but she had decided that running here to investigate was possibly very important.
    
    
   Blackwind Technologies Dock and Receiving Yard, Port of Los Angeles, California 11:25PM
    
   Thunder rolled and rain poured, lightning lit up the warehouses, containers and cranes that filled the over one hundred acres leased to Blackwind Technologies a subsidiary of the Kaze Industries Group.
    
   The stormy night didn't bother Juno Reyes, she had been in worse, although if pressed she probably couldn't name when or where. But still she had been in worse, and at least here she was in a nice warm, dry Security SUV. No what bothered her was the severe lack of visibility. The street and security lights only appeared as small fuzzy dim balls and did nothing to show their surrounds and the lightning flashes only revealed the heavy sheets of rain.
    
   She sighed squinting into the darkness, a murder squad of ISIS fighters could be sneaking up on her and she wouldn't know it until the bullets hit or the bombs went off. This thought caused her to frown. She missed the army, this was agood job, really better than what she had expected. But something was missing. The thrill the excitement. She had been and elite soldier and now she was a security guard. She sighed again.
    
   She turned onto the dock road and headed back towards the station. All she had to do was make sure nothing was going on where the ships touched US soil then she was done for two hours before she had to repeat the whole routine again. There were only two ship docked this week so it would be quick and hopefully she wouldn't even have to get out of the car and get wet. She passed slowly by the two ships and saw nothing that warranted a stop and then as she passed the next empty berth the head light caught the silhouette of a small ship in a berth that was supposed to be empty. Juno slowed to a stop and killed her lights.
    
   She got a better look at it when the lighning flashed it was small not one of the big container ships not even a midsize freighter, it looked more like a fishing boat. She keyed her mic hooked to her shoulder.
    
   “Hey, Gary, this is Juno. Did someone come in late at berth four? A small boat,” Juno asked not realizing that she had slipped into her quiet radio voice.”
    
   “Nothing on the docket except the Yondo Maru at one, and the Sivian Grace at two. Supposed to have a container ship coming tomorrow but it delayed and that would go to seven for offloading then right back out to anchor. Why you got something there?”
    
   “Yes looks like a fishing boat.” “Might be someone taking refuge from the storm. Probably nothing but you better take a look just to make sure they don't need any help. Sorry” “Ok Juno out.”
    
   Juno zipped up her coat and raised the hood, she'd still get soaked but at least... oh who was she kidding she was going to get soaked.
    
   The rain lashed hard and the wind which she hadn't noticed in the car was blowing a lot harder. The boat was dark she couldn't see any lights at all which was unusual, her hand strayed to the handle of her pistol as she moved closer to the unknown vessel.
    
   Lightning flashed and suddenly there was man in front of her no more than two meters away standing a still as a tree. She almost drew her weapon but stopped, the man didn't move and in the flashes of lightning she got a clearer picture of him, and it was not normal.
    
   He was middling height, five eight or nine was hard to tell because he wore a wide brimmed hat and his head was tilted forward. But that wasn't all he was not dressed for a night out in a storm but rather he was dressed as if he had just stepped out of a Kurasawa film right down to the swords.
    
   The man looked up and spoke. “Go to your bosses tell my name, Yojimbo”
    
   Before she could respond the lightning flashed again blinding her and when it cleared he was gone.
    
    
    
    
   Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California after midnight
    
   The storm raged outside but Tenchi heard nothing, even the rain which splattered against the reinforced plate glass panels of the balcony doors were a mere whisper. The house had been built by their father years before they were born and bore the ascetic of the times, but it was not an old house, not on the inside. As new technologies had been invented they had been incorporated into the dwelling, new additions had been added to accommodate the adult children whom were expected to continue living there when they were home, which they did.
    
   The house itself sat at the peak of the mountain overlooking the city of Beverly Hills, occupying six full acres which itself was part of the one hundred and eighty seven acre billion dollar property. It was the most expensive privately owned property in the United States if not the world.
    
   The view was spectacular, the way the lightning streaked across the sky, arms of vicious electricity touching the city below. His sister and mother had gone to bed hours ago but while he had tried, sleep had proven elusive this night. Maybe it was the storm. Tenchi stood at the balcony door watching the rain and lightning. When between one flash and the next a figure was now standing on the balcony.
    
   Tench heard a gasp behind him. Stepping back from the door but keeping the unmoving figure in sight, he stole a glance back and saw his sister, Raiko, standing at the hall which led to the dining room and kitchen, she was wearing only her nightgown, but was oblivious to her near nakedness, her eyes wide staring at he figure on the balcony her hands covering her mouth as if to stifle a scream. Seeing her brother look at her she lowered her hands slightly and whispered a word...”Yojimbo!”
    
   Wind blew in accompanied by rain the balcony doors had slid open as if of their own accord then the unmoving figure, moved. With short dancing steps both recognized as esoteric Kendo steps the man moved into the room. He was dressed in garb you would see in a samurai movie but it all looked authentic right down to the swords at his waist and the wide brimmed hat which concealed his face.
   “Tenchi and Raiko Shirahara , your presence is required” with a deft and graceful step the man moved to a coffee table and laid an envelop down. He stepped back as Raiko raced forward and snatched it up looking inside. Inside were three reservation passes to a ski resort in Colorado.
    
   “What is this? Who are you?” Tenchi had shifted position closer to his sister and they both faced the man he was wishing he were armed.
    
   Yojimbo shrugged, “I do not know but if you are not there many will pay.”
    
   “I asked who are you,” Tenchi asked his anger starting to show?
    
   “She knows,” was all the figure said.
    
   “There are three tickets is the third for mother,” asked Raiko?  “No.”  “Then for who?”  “You will know.” and with that answer he spun out of the room onto the balcony. At that moment a stroke of light and he vanished as he he had rode away on the electricity...

   Scion: Chaosium Character Creation
    
   Character Creation follows the guidelines in the Origin Book. All characters will start as pre visitation Mortals. Legendary Creatures are not allowed.
   Changes to CC will be noted in the appropriate sections following.
    
   Step one Concept
   As written in RAW. Deeds should not be specific at this point and only a short term and long term are needed, band deed will come later.

   Supernatural/Pantheon Origin Paths
   In ages past the gods walked among man, interfering in their activity, manipulating them, setting them against one another, and sleeping with them. Many if not all the gods have had intimate relations with mortals at some point and many have begat offspring. While this no longer occurs, it was common in the time before the gods retreated.
   As such in the modern day while there are no longer ‘children’ of the gods walking among us, virtually all of the men and women alive today have some link to a god in their DNA. Some more than others.
   It is these others whom the gods in their self-imposed exile will turn to, activating the divine gene in some of their descendants to bring about new champions to face the trials to come.
    
   Your Supernatural Origin Path will consist of choosing  up to three pantheons who can have claim upon your divinity, pantheons are listed on Page 170. You do not need to pick three, but this is to give you options and for later RP purposes. Note that you will need to already have picked your calling from step five to proceed here so you may wish to skip this until after.
   For each Pantheon you choose pick a god with whom you share Calling. Note that if you only pick  two Pantheons you still need to pick three gods, one from each and the third from either. If you only choose one Pantheon all three gods come from the same Pantheon.
   Note; You must have three gods, if you choose one Pantheon and it does not have enough gods with your calling to pick three you must choose a second pantheon. You also need to Prioritize the three deities who can hold claim on you ; Primary, Secondary, Tertiary.
   All divine calculations will use the Primary deity as the base.
   See Errata below before proceeding.
    
   Step Three Skills
   RAW except for the following: you gain dots in each Asset skill associated with all three of your chosen pantheons at whatever priority they are at. Note that the skills given by the pantheons only receive dots once even if given by more than one of your chosen pantheons. The dots do still stack with the other priorities.

   RAW except for the following after choosing your Calling and your base knack choose two additional callings at 1 dot each from those associated with any of your three chosen gods  and one knack from each of these callings.

   Spend 50 xp to customize your character. You may save up to half of these XP for later use.
   No Birthrights are available currently.
